Four cheap and green ways to have a camping adventure this Autumn

THE SMELL of shiny new adventure is already in the air, but sky-high bills and a looming recession might make you feel a well-earned holiday is out of reach.

But we’ve found a way you can enjoy at least four totally different camping weekends on the cheap – and we think you’re going to love it!

Introducing Tentshare – an online sharing platform which began in 2019 when Rebecca Heaps rented her bell tent to families in her neighbourhood. Parents wanted to give their kids the glamping experience but did not want the burden of purchasing, storing or maintaining a tent.

With Tentshare you can either rent out your tent and camping equipment to earn income or book a tent from someone local to your or your campsite and save money without the set-up expense. RentMy but specifically for tents!

Camping gear can cost thousands - but by renting different types of tents, holiday makers can have not one, but four different experiences to make this an Autumn to remember.

“For just £170, you could have four very different weekend experiences,” said Rebecca.

“A wild camping tent which is small and light to carry on your back as you head into the unknown will cost you from £45 for a weekend.

“A luxurious bell or glamping tent which are beautiful to sleep under might only cost you from £75 for three nights, while a family tent start from £100 a night depending on size, quality, and condition.

And your last weekend away might be to a festival so you’d need a festival tent which would cost you from £40 to rent for a weekend.

“We’ve teamed up with Camplight who salvage tents from festivals, clean them up and repair them and then rent them back to festival goers. It’s so affordable and convenient to arrive at a festival to a pitched tent, beds and camping chairs ready and waiting for you. Plus you’re doing your bit for the planet which is great especially since 250,000 tents go into landfill each year.”

So, if you thought festivals like Boomtown, World Yoga and Shambala were out of your reach, think again.

And remember – you can list all your other camping gear and outdoors equipment on RentMy this summer, and start making money on those items while you’re not using them.

Happy holidays!
